Sunday School is a welcoming and loving environment where all children can learn the joy, love and forgiveness that is offered to them through their belief in Jesus and their faith in the Christian Community.  Central uses the Live Big Curriculum where each lesson is based on three BIG truths:  God is a great big God, God loves us with a great big love, and we are part of God's great big world.  Each week K-5th graders meet at 9:45 as a large group to learn the month’s memory verse, and either hear about current church service projects, participate in hands on science experiments, or do a little singing!  At 10:00, students will disperse into their individual classrooms to focus on the weekly bible story through media, art, lesson books, games and skits.   Registration Form for Sunday School.  To learn more about the Live BIG program, you can visit  Live Big.

Acolytes
9:00 and 11:00 traditional services.

The third grade bible class is traditionally where children learn to become acolytes. An acolyte carries the light into the sanctuary at the beginning of the worship service and carries it from the sanctuary at the end of worship. This training takes place during one of the Bible classes and offers another opportunity for our children to be active participants in worship.

Children's Church

Each Sunday following Children's Time during the 11:00 services
3-4 year old children meet in Room 105 of the Nursery
Kindergarten thru 3rd Grade, Room 302

Children at Central are encouraged to worship in many ways and age appropriate practices can be found in Children’s Church! Children will explore the same topic the adults are hearing about, in ways they can grasp and use in their lives; through games, activities, crafts and music. Goals include memorizing scripture, helping with community outreach projects and making new friends in the spirit of Christ.  Children will join the congregation on Communion Sunday, the first Sunday of the month to participate in that tradition.

Choristers

The Choristers is our choir for singers 3rd through 6th grades.  They rehearse Sunday morning and perform throughout the year including performances Christmas Eve and our Spring musical!  They have a great time making music and making new friends.  Come and join us!

Third Grade Bible Class
October 19, 26 and November 2
Bibles will be handed out October 16 at the 9:00 a.m. Well service and 11:00 Sanctuary service
Room 305

Central believes that youngsters feeling comfortable with the Bible and knowing the wealth of wisdom and knowledge that comes from it, is fundamental in their Christian walk.  At the beginning of October each 3rd grader (or any other elementary student that has not received a bible) receives a New International Version Children’s Bible and is offered the opportunity to attend a three week course on how to use it. At each session the children will explore the books of the Old and New Testament as well as discover some key people in the bible and how God used them for the good of mankind today. Our Pastors often play a key role in this study and will offer a question and answer session so each student has an opportunity to discover the bible by digging a little deeper.

Wednesday Nights:

Heroes Elementary Youth Group:
1st - 5th grades
Wednesdays, 6:15 - 8:00 p.m.

Bring a friend and come on down to the youngest youth group around!!  Kids are invited to enjoy fun, fellowship, activities and spiritual growth after the Wonderful Wednesday meal. Room 306 is brought to life by smiling faces and lots of laughter. This time allows for the children to experience the love of God, the warmth of their church friends and a mid-week “filling station” for their soul.
