Serving at Central begins with your commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. From simply giving a financial contribution, donating materials or donating your time; every gift makes a difference. Service is the church's grateful response to what God has done, is doing and will do. Central provides many ways to give goods and money for good causes.
Coin Offering
Any coins collected from the weekly offerings at services goes towards a variety of missions. Every month the total amount of coins collected go to a specific mission. Some examples include, Outreach Emergency Fund, Family Partnership Program, Northport Indian Mission. National and world include Haiti Hot Lunch, Bed Net Projects, Youth Missions, N.O.A.H. Project, Vietnam Initiative and Personal Energy Transportation (PET) carts. We ask that if you have a large amount of coins to turn them in at the office.
May Coin Offering will support Dann's House. Dann's House was founded in 2014, offers supportive housing for men who have experienced chronic homelessness and suffer from persistent Alcohol Use Disorder. Safe housing, professional staff and specially-trained volunteers results in reduced alcohol consumption, improved health and eating habits for residents who meet with their Case Manager to assess their needs, keep medical appointments and help them set goals. Once some stability has been achieved most residents seek employment and volunteer work. Need more info? Speak with Don Reynolds, Julie Falconer or Staton Lorenz at church.
Dining with a Mission
Delicious Meal and money raised for Missions! We are looking for individuals who would be willing to host a meal in their home as a benefit for missions. Volunteers can plan your own menu, set your own date, and select the mission project you would like to support. It is a wonderful way to have a relaxing evening with your fellow church members.
Emergency Fund
Our Outreach Emergency Fund is the largest item in the budget of the Mission Ministry Team. This fund supports our ongoing meal programs and resourcing for the homeless and others facing financial and other challenges. Central provides shower facilities, an address for mail and other amenities needed such as shaving cream, razors and deodorant. Check with our Outreach Coordinator for current program needs.
Food Pantry Sunday
Central accepts ongoing donations for local food pantries. Any non-perishable food items as well as personal hygiene items and paper products can be brought to the church and placed in the collection bin near the church office.
Harvest Table
The Mission Ministry Team has baked goods and fresh produce available at our summer worship services, June - September. Proceeds go to Central’s mission projects. Please feel free to bring something from your oven or garden to share at the table.
Receipts & Barcodes to Benefit Central
Central collects grocery receipts from Oleson's Food Stores on a quarterly basis. All proceeds earned from this program go directly to our children’s Sunday School program. Central also collects Spartan Barcodes from items purchased at Olson's. For every 1000 bar codes we submit, the church receives $20. Slips/labels can be turned in to the basket outside the church office. Any question contact Linda Holzworth.
Wonderful Wednesday Meals
During the school year, plan to join us each Wednesday, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. We begin with a family dinner prepared by a service group within the church, which offers the chance to enjoy fellowship time with others and make new friends. A free-will offering is collected during the meal to help support the ministries of Central Church. No pre-registration is required. Immediately following the meal, we offer classes, youth groups, presentations and activities for all ages.
