Every Wednesday until August 20
Join us for our Summer Book Study beginning on Wednesday, June 18th!
Ten years ago, we began this small group set intentionally to meet OUTSIDE the church in public places open to the elements. And what a gift it has been for so many of us. These are informal, “come when you can” gatherings. Even reading the book is optional as this group focuses on fellowship and deepening our faith in our Creator God.
Because summer schedules are often busy, we offer two places and times discussing a chapter a week for 9 weeks. NOTE THAT WE ARE NOT MEETING during Cherry Festival Week… too crazy to drive in town! So our last session will be on August 20th.
The 10:00 am session meets in the pavilion at the Botanic Garden above the Gift Shop. Note that if stairs are an issue, there is handicapped parking near the pavilion. The 7:00 pm session meets at the Boardman Nature Center pavilion on Cass Road, south of South Airport. The pavilion is at the east end of the main parking lot.
ALL are welcome, so invite a friend or bring houseguests! Well-behaved grandchildren and dogs are also invited to join us. If the weather is truly NASTY (thunder, lightning, high wind!), we will Zoom, so make sure that I have your contact information! We have had wonderful discussions under our pavilion in the rain in past summers.
This summer we will be returning to a favorite author, J. Philip Newell, and his most recent book, The Great Search: Turning to Earth and Soul in the Quest for Healing and Home. The books have been ordered and will be at the Church Office on June 11th. We have a special $10 price on the hardcover version of the book. Please sign the sheet and pay CUMC for your book, and sign the sheet so we know who has bought the books. Questions?? Contact Kathy Mead: meadka09@gmail.com
