From music to missions to every ministry that matters, Central Church is counting our blessings by the hope we’ve sparked in 2023.
- From Parents Night Out to Christmas for Children and the Christmas Market, hundreds of families from across northern Michigan have come to us to find a safe, welcoming place for all ages.
- Remember times when kids just sat through church wishing they could go home? Those days are gone! With the family space in worship, our children are learning to love worship and to find – sanctuary in the sanctuary! Praise God!
- Our mission partner Soaring Unlimited Haiti opened a new birthing center in January this year. Dozens of little ones have been delivered safely (Pictures in the second floor hallway. It’s worth a look!). Central was the key financial sponsor of that center.
- Central Outreach continues to serve ever more community members during a significant shortage of affordable housing. We continue to foster community partnerships to help with medical care, haircuts, government assistance, and more.
- Immigration Law & Justice (formerly JFON) continues its work at Central, with free legal assistance for those fleeing war-torn regions, or immigrating and migrating for economic reasons.
- Our volunteers provide medical transportation for those who need help getting care. We work through the year to remember our elders and to surprise them with notes and care.
- We’re celebrating the dramatic expansion of an early childhood literacy program. The Dolly Parton Imagination Library GTA began with a few members of Central Church and a single zip code. It’s now expanded to its own nonprofit with a multi-county reach.
