With nearly 40 years of experience in all aspects of commercial banking, and several years of involvement with Central’s financial management, Bob is well suited to serve as the 2023 chairperson of the church finance committee.
The Finance Committee monitors Central’s overall financial health, including oversight of balance sheets, expense, and income reports. The committee suggests and helps implement operational changes as needed, reviews and recommends modifications in church financial policies, responds to banking requirements, and assists with financial audits. The committee works with other church committees and departments to assess monetary needs, all in accordance with the annual church budget.
Bob, and his wife, Carol, have been attending Central since 2002. Bob retired from banking in 2012, and in addition to his work with church finances, he has actively participated in Central’s Habitat for Humanity projects, and has been a volunteer/organizer for the renovation of the Mosaic House. Bob’s also been a long-time participant with the Journey Group that meets monthly for book studies and discussions. He’s served as a lay leader for the annual UMC conference, and has participated with the Church Council and Staff Pastor Parish Relation Committee.
Bob and Carol have found many lasting relationships with fellow Central attendees, they love Central’s ministries and music, and take pride in Central’s community outreach/assistance programs. Beyond his involvement at Central, Bob enjoys fly fishing, bowling, and spending time with sons Grant and Nathan and their families.
