We are joining other churches to re-form the partnership called “The Circle of Twelve”. The area churches are joining hands to support the Depot Project with volunteers and funding. Participating so far are the Presbyterians, Catholics, Methodists, and Lutherans. We are working to gain other commitments to this worthy project. Our Methodist support has been outstanding so far. The information below tells more about our efforts and many ways you can become involved. See how our project has evolved through images in our Photo Album. Contact representative, Bruce Wilson.
Depot Neighborhood Project
This project will build homes for 26 families in the open area adjacent to the old train depot on the corner of Woodmere and Eighth Streets. Ten of the homes will be built by Habitat over the next three years. The other sixteen will be built by another not-for-profit organization called HomeStretch. Click here to see a full description of this plan and a video presentation.
