Faithlink

Sunday Morning Pilgrimage
10:00-10:45 on Sundays in room 306
Spend some time taking an inner pilgrimage with others seeking God’s presence in their life. Studying the book, "Learning to Walk in the Dark" by Barbara Brown Taylor, this group will connect with each other while also exploring the truths shared in the book. We all have darkness in our lives. Both Taylor's wisdom and perspective bring hope and light. Books are available for $10. Leaders: Kathy Mead, Frank Fellows and Ali Thornton.
Creating the Covenant
6:30-8:00 Sunday evenings in the Lounge
A brand new in-depth study! The unique relationship between God and us is grounded in the faithfulness of God’s love, while sharing signs of that love with others. In this first term of three, Creating the Covenant covers stories about our origins in Genesis, the critical Exodus narrative, and the stories of a new teacher in the Gospels. Sacred Spaces
6:30-8:00 on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings most months in the Lounge
Sacred Spaces is designed for people of all ages, who are seeking contemplative time in community, reflecting on the calming presence of God. We will study the book, Soul of the Pilgrim by Christine Valters Paintner. Meeting together will provide great discussion about being open to new experiences and cultivativating attentiveness to the divine. Books are available for $10. Leader: Kathy Mead.
Tuesday Evening Bible Study

For the past several years, this weekly Bible study group has worked through the books of the Bible one by one. Even if you haven’t joined them in the past, there is room for you! Join this fall for a study on the book of Mark. Books are available for $10 in the church office. Leader: Eldon Horner.
The Dream of a Birthing Center at Soaring Unlimited in Haiti
One Night Presentation - September 13

You may already know about the long standing partnership Central Church has with Soaring Unlimited Health Clinic in Cap Haitien, Haiti. This fall we have an exciting opportunity to be a part of a campaign that will change the lives of many people living in this impoverished part of the world. Central Church has pledged to support the creation of a birthing center at the clinic. Join us on September 13 to learn more!
Jesus’ Parables for Today

The ancient words of Jesus’ parables have truth for our lives today. On Wednesday evenings this fall, spend time studying these important stories. In October, Sunday worship will feature a sermon series on the parables to help you go deeper in your understanding.

Building Better Moms

A place that meets you right where you’re at as a mom, a woman, and a friend. Learning how to be better equipped as a parent through study and discussion. Growing through a supportive network of moms who “get” it — from newborns to teens. Serving not only your family, but also your community through outreach opportunities. We will work through the study, "Becoming Heart Sister" by Natalie Chambers Snapp. We all need friends for support and fun in our lives. This discussion uses stories from the headlines as the primary focus. Each week there will be a different key story that we will explore by applying scripture references to figure out how we can learn from the situation as Christians, and where we find hope.
Disciple IV
5:30-7:00 Thursday evenings in the Library
In this in-depth Bible study you will learn more about the writings of the Hebrew Bible, the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation. This study conveys the promise of finding shelter, security, and rest in God's love, learned through study and community. Completion of Disciple I is a pre-requisite for this class. Books are available for $30. If you would like a study Bible to use for the class, they are available for $30 as well. Leaders: Darcy Dewling and Arden Atkinson.
The Faith of a Mockingbird (Starts September 21 - November 2)

In The Faith of a Mockingbird, based on Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, pastor and author Matt Rawle uses Lee’s beloved characters to explore Christian faith, theology, and ethics. Join Scout, Atticus Finch, Boo Radley, and Tom Robinson in this four-week study considering God’s world and what it all means. Books are available for $10 in the church office. Wild At Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man’s Soul (Begins Sept 14 - December 14)

Walk into most churches, have a look around, and ask yourself: What is a Christian man? Without listening to what is said, look at what you find there. Most Christian men are … bored. In “Wild at Heart”, John Eldredge invites men to recover their masculine heart, defined in the image of a passionate God. Chapter titles include: “The Wild One Whose Image We bear”, “The Question that Haunts Every Man”, “An Adventure to Live”. Books are available for $12 in the church office. Knowing Your Own Story
12:00-1:00 Fridays in room 306
This Friday morning group will start off the fall with a short study about the Joseph story in the Bible and how it can help bring a deeper understanding of your own faith story. Once that foundation is set, the group will transition into a study of being a disciple by finding light in the dark places of our lives in a journey of transformation. A 10:30am Covenant Discipleship group meets the hour before our noon group and is open to all. Leaders: Pastor Chris and Diane Morrison.
