Kyle Sonnemann Memorial Youth Mission Scholarships

Help support CUMC high school students who wish to participate in Central’s annual summer Youth Mission
trip! In late July, the group will travel to Cass Community Church in downtown Detroit, where they will assist with
various projects to help local homeless neighbors. In prior years, the CUMC Youth Mission groups have
traveled to Louisiana, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, New York State, and other destinations.

Funds donated for this mission will be used for participants’ transportation, meals, and assistance projects for
those in need in the Detroit area, such as food, clothing, and other necessities. The scholarship fund is named in honor of the late Kyle Sonneman, son of John and Bonnie Sonneman.  Kyle was active as a youth in many programs, including mission trips at Central. Later, he served as a volunteer youth group and mission trip leader.  Kyle passed away at the age of 28 due to complications from a lifetime medical issue.
