Children 6 months-5years (not yet in kindergarten) are welcome to come and play, learn age appropriate stories, and explore in awesome wonder while parents are in worship.  For safety reasons, parents must remain in the building at all times while children are being cared for in the nursery.

NOTE: The nursery is closed from 10:15 – 10:45 am each Sunday for cleaning and to provide break time for our staff and volunteers.

Discuple 1 Fast Track is Back with an overview of the New Testament.

Darcy Dewling will be leading the Fast Track New Testament study in a 6-week segment.

Chapters 7-12: March 24 through April 28

Disciple Fast Track, an adaptation of the original, bestselling Disciple Bible Study, provides a viable option for busy people seeking comprehensive engagement over time with the entire biblical text. Fast Track groups meet for a total of 24 weeks, devoting 12 weeks each to the Old Testament and the New Testament.

Participants read a manageable 3-5 chapters of the Bible daily in preparation for the weekly meetings, which last approximately 75-90 minutes.

Churches from around the Traverse City area will come together on Good Friday, April 3rd, 2026 to remember the seven last words of Christ in preaching and song.

The service is from 12:15pm-3:00pm in the Sanctuary at Central United Methodist Church at 222 Cass Street in Downtown Traverse City, Michigan.

Worshippers are welcome to come for all or part of the service.

Offerings gathered at the worship service will support BDAI– Before, During & After Incarceration. An advocacy group for the incarcerated, previously incarcerated and their families.

BDAI seeks to promote alternatives to incarceration, including restorative programming, and support for those incarcerated and their families.

BDAI advocates for the incarcerated by providing restorative programming, family support, and community education about alternatives to incarceration while engaging local and statewide stakeholders to improve the criminal justice system

Dovetailing with this longstanding community tradition this year will be a community-wide Stations of the Cross for migrants sponsored by Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel. It begins at 6pm in Rotary Square.

This year’s community service has a wide array of denominations and ministries represented:

Rev. Haley Vay Beaman, Feast of Victory Lutheran Church

Deacon Tom Bousamra, BDAI: Before, During and After Incarceration

Rev. Matt Herron, Sojourn Church

Rev. Jim Perra, Grace Episcopal Church

Rev. Alex Jensen, Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse

Rev. Jordan Starkenburg, associate pastor, The Presbyterian Church of Traverse City

Rev. Joan VanDessel, Central United Methodist Church

We will prepare for and practice what it looks like to act in solidarity and show up in the most effective and peaceful way during situations of enforcement activity. Knowing our rights and theirs, is an essential step in the work that we are doing.

Adult Ministry – Spring Parent Book Study

Parents, we have a book study for you! Sundays, from 10 am to 10:45 am, in the Fellowship Hall. This study begins Sunday, April 12 and goes through Sunday, May 17. Child care provided, and hosted between services on Sunday Mornings at 10am.

Join us as we dive into the book “Woven: Nurturing a Faith Your Kid Doesn’t Have to Heal From” by Meredith Miller. This book looks at what it is to grow our kids in a way that they form their own web of faith by us allowing them to build it piece by piece until they have their own web of faith, instead of building brick by brick. They will get to know God in a way that focuses on trust instead of a list of rigid rules. I have read this book a few times, so I am excited to share it with all of you too! Please email me, Erica Kozlowski, at erica@tccentralumc.org, with any questions.

You can register online here, call the church office, or email me.
